Dinner & a Movie

The Discipleship Council will show Amazing Grace, a film about the abolitionist campaign against the slave trade in the British Empire, led by William Wilberforce. Wilberforce was responsible for steering anti-slave trade legislation through the British parliament for three decades before it passed in 1807. Wilberforce was influenced by John Newton, a slave ship captain turned evangelical preacher, who penned the lyrics of the hymn Amazing Grace in 1772. Free popcorn & sodas will also be available for all.

Dinner options: 1. Turkey sandwich & chips, 2. Salad with grilled chicken or 3. Vegetarian garden salad with chickpeas. All meals will come with a cookie and drink.
