Aging in Christ | 7-week Study Led by Rev. Dr. Daniel Vestal

Thursday Mornings | Feb. 5–Mar. 19 | 10:30 a.m.–12 p.m. | Ryland Knight Room

Explore how to receive and reflect the love of God in the later years of life through a seven-week course led by Rev. Dr. Daniel Vestal (Pastor, professor, author and SPdL member). In this course on aging and faith development, special attention will be given to:

• Understanding the spiritual, physical, mental, social dimensions of aging

• Learning the practices that help in spiritual formation as we age

• Confronting the special challenges of aging and the resources available to meet them

• Nurturing the attitudes and attributes necessary to gain wisdom

• Developing a disposition of faith, hope and love as we prepare for eternal life

• Finding community and support for aging

Come early for coffee at 10 a.m. All adults are welcome, especially senior adults. There is no cost for registration, but regular attendance and active participation is encouraged to get the most out of this experience. Have questions? About the Leader: Rev. Dr. Daniel Vestal is the director of the Baugh Center for Baptist Leadership at Mercer University and an affiliate faculty member of Mercer’s Center for Gerontology. From 1996 to 2012, he served as the Executive Coordinator of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Prior to that he was a pastor of Baptist churches both in Texas and Georgia. He has authored and contributed to numerous books and publications, and has traveled extensively as a preacher, teacher and speaker for conferences, conventions and retreats.
