Ministerial Staff
Meet our team of Second-Ponce ministers.
Senior Pastor
Alex was born and raised in Powder Springs, Georgia where he was the fourth generation to grow up on the land where his parents and grandparents still live. In 2009, he received his B.A. in Religious Studies from Georgia State University. Three years later, he graduated from the Wake Forest University School of Divinity, Winston-Salem, N.C. with a Master of Divinity degree. In 2022, Alex received his Doctor of Ministry from Boston University School of Theology, Boston, MA.
Alex is married to Allison, and they have three boys: Abram, Archie and Allston. Most of Alex’s free time is spent at the ballpark where he coaches the boys’ baseball teams. He also enjoys reading, strength training and outdoor sports like golf, fishing and hunting.
Rev. Dr. Alex Gallimore
Minister of Music
Bill Gabbard has been a professional vocal musician for over thirty-eight years, the last thirty-one with The Soldiers’ Chorus of The United States Army Field Band of Washington, D.C.
Bill served his local church in Annapolis, Maryland, as a church officer, worship committee chair and adult choir director. For ten years, he has performed with “Brethren,” an acclaimed Washington, D.C-based men’s choral group.
Bill’s wife, Mary Lynn, is a proud native of Atlanta. They met in college at Mercer University where they were both members of the Mercer Singers. They are the parents of five and grateful grandparents of six. Their two oldest sons are currently serving as commissioned officers in the Navy and Army.

Minister of Community and Student Discipleship
Jonathan Hall is a graduate of Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology in Atlanta. Before joining Second-Ponce, he served with the youth and music ministries at Smoke Rise Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Jonathan also has worked as staff for Passport Camps. Originally from North Carolina, Jonathan completed his undergraduate degree at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. When he is not spending time with his wife, Milligan—perhaps enjoying a meal together at one of Atlanta’s many delicious restaurants--you can find Jonathan listening to records from his collection, playing basketball with friends or making all kinds of art.
