Seniors Hop Aboard the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

All Aboard! Join Minister to Senior Adults Jonathan Barlow on Friday, May 23, as he takes our seniors for a ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway.

The railway is nestled in the mountains of Georgia in the Chattahoochee National Forest -- where historic Blue Ridge awaits! Known for friendly folks and old time atmosphere, Blue Ridge (a.k.a. the “antiques capital” of northwest Georgia) is definitely a place to visit.

This 4-hour, 26-mile round trip train adventure winds along the beautiful Toccoa River in vintage, climate-controlled railcars. The relaxing ride starts at the historic depot, built in 1905 in downtown Blue Ridge, then stops for a layover in the quaint sister towns of McCaysville, Ga., and Copperhill, Tenn., where visitors have a two-hour layover – allowing plenty of time to eat lunch, shop for unique crafts and antiques, snack on ice cream or explore.

Lunch will not be provided so that all will be able to choose how they would like to spend their two-hour layover. Please bring money for lunch.
