Prayer at Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church
Prayer is inextricably linked to caregiving in Gods kingdom. It is our privilege to support one another and to draw on Gods resources as we live. There are many settings in which our people can minister through prayer.
- Prayer Cottage- The little house across the parking lot hosts a wonderful intercessory ministry, touching countless individuals and families through prayer. There is a constant need for members to commit their time in shifts at the cottage, praying for specific requests as received. Requests are followed up on through written contact from those praying.
- Intercessory Prayer- In addition to taking turns at the prayer cottage, the congregation prays at all regularly scheduled meetings and services. Small groups, classes and project groups pray together. Members should always feel comfortable requesting prayer with any group to which they are connected. The church staff prays for its members and programs at each weekly meeting as the very first order of business. Wednesday nights find the church gathered in prayer and study, where updates on members are given each week.
- Prayer Room- Our church is blessed with a beautiful, sacred prayer space in the Swilley Chapel building. Located just above the North Bridge entrance, the room features a beautiful stained-glass background. The prayer room is available for use whenever the building is open.
- Homebound Prayer Force- Many of our members who are unable to be physically present at worship on a regular basis commit to prayer on behalf of Second-Ponce de Leon. This special group of members professes a deep love for their church in their willingness to pray daily. Perhaps you know someone who could support our church in this vital way.
