How to Support Touching Miami with Love

This July, a team from Second-Ponce is heading back to Miami, Florida to work with Touching Miami with Love for the second summer in a row! We have a great team who are all excited to serve in Miami this summer. A limited number of spots remain for this meaningful mission journey, so sign up today! Email GlobalTeam@spdl.org to sign up or to inquire. Trip dates: July 8-15, 2017.

*Not able to go with the team this summer but want to get involved? Here are 3 ways to help:

1. Join the Prep Team! During the weeks leading up to our departure on July 8th our team will be busy preparing items and making plans for our work in Miami, and we can use your help! We will need help to collect and organize supplies, create craft items, and brainstorm fun and exciting activities to do with the children in the Overtown community of Miami. ContactGlobalTeam@spdl.org to volunteer to help with our trip preparation needs.

2. Become a Share-Holder! Want to financially support an individual on the team or the overall ministry of Touching Miami with Love? Contact Ryan Wilson (rwilson@spdl.org) for ways to financially contribute, or pick up a Miami Mission Trip “share-holder” brochure in the church lobby or at the information wall outside the church offices.

3. Be a Prayer Warrior! Prayer is an important part of any ministry effort, and a meaningful way to engage in this particular ministry. Pick up one of the Miami Mission Trip “share-holder” brochures in the church lobby for some specific ways to engage in prayer.

SPdL Prayer Matters Coming to You

Occasionally we get requests from members to help them know about significant prayer matters such as births or deaths within Second-Ponce de Leon families. For years, our church’s Prayer List has been password protected on our website. The log-in password is given, on request, to members only to protect the confidentiality of the information there. Additionally, that same list has been distributed in print each Sunday (through Sunday School classes) and on Wednesday nights in the “Signal” publication. Now, we will also send church members an email notification each time such information has been updated within the Prayer List. This will give you the timely opportunity to know especially if a family is celebrating an arrival or has suffered a loss. We encourage you to use this as a tool to keep yourself and members of the congregation informed.
