Family Life Center

FLC-AnniversaryThe Family Life Center and Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church exist to take Christ to our community and to the world. People who use the Family Life Center are provided with the opportunities to grow physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. It is our desire that all who use our facility or participate in our activities will have the opportunity to hear that Jesus Christ loves them and desires to have a personal relationship with them, to make a personal response to Christ and to grow in Christ-likeness.

Reception Desk

Everyone who enters the Family Life Center must register at the Reception Desk: members by scanning their membership card; non-members by signing the guest form and paying the appropriate fee. Non-members must present a valid photo I.D.


To become a facility member online – please click on the “Member Portal” button located at the top of this page. Then click “Become a Member” to become a member of the Family Life Center. Follow our easy to use instructions and remember membership does have its privileges

To register for programs & activities online – please click on the “Member Portal” button located at the top of this page. Then click “Become a Guest” to become a registered non-member of our facility. Every non-member must become a guest of our facility to be eligible to register for any of our programs & activities. Once registered you will be able to view all upcoming programs and activities as well as register for them online.

With our high impact classes like Valeo Fit 1000 and Cardio intervals to low impact classes like 20/20/20, the FLC has it all. The Family Life Center offers an assortment of programs and activities for adults, teens, youths, and pre-K. Among the programs, we offer Aussie Golf (ages 3-5), Tap-Ballet-Jazz (ages 5-7); Girls Fit Club, Facebook Basics, Windows 10, Pickleball, Bridge classes and more. You can view our schedule here.

The Family Life Center is a 70,000 square foot facility that offers a wide variety of amenities to suit your fitness needs. Complimentary exercise orientations are offered to every new member of the Family Life Center. Visitors are always welcome to come by for a tour of the facility

Functional Room

The Functional Fitness room For those who enjoy many of the newer fitness programs involving high-intensity workouts. Our functional fitness room was designed and equipped to provide additional strength and conditioning opportunities kettle bells, cross training equipment, squat platforms, speed rope and more.

Indoor Track

The indoor walking/running track is 1/9 mile. Lap counters may be checked out at the Reception Desk.

Weight Room

The Weight Room has StarTrac and Cybex weight machines. A complete set of hand weights and weight benches, as well as a variety of free weights, are also available for your strength development.

Cardio Center

The Cardio Center is fully equipped with treadmills, upright and recumbent stationary bikes, Schwinn Air Dyne Ergometers, Stairmasters, Precor Cross-trainers and a Concept II Rower.


The Family Life Center has a regulation-size basketball court with adjustable goals and an in-ground volleyball system.For information about gym rental For those interested in volleyball, call Todd Washington at (404) 591-4380.

Racquetball Courts

Two full-size racquetball courts may be reserved up to one day in advance by calling or stopping by the Reception Desk. Players must wear eye goggles.

Sauna and Steam Room

Relax in the heat of the sauna or steam room, located in the men and women locker rooms.

Personal Trainers

Many of our members have already discovered the benefits of working with a personal trainer. From designing a customized workout plan to providing ongoing motivation and support, our personal trainers are dedicated to helping you achieve your specific fitness goals. Personal trainers are available to assist you in setting up a customized fitness program at your convenience. Children’s Program and Activities

The Family Life Center offers an array of fun and exciting programs and activities for preschool and youth ages 3 to 13. Programs include Artscool, Pure Tennis, Kids Golf Academy, Karate, Multi-Sport, Creative Movement and Dance Pre-Ballet, Soccer Champs, Dynamo Swim Lessons and More. Once you become a registered guest you will be able to access and register for all of our Programs & Activities Online!


The Family Life Center swimming pool is 25 yards long. The depth is 3 1/2 feet at each end and 5 feet in the middle. Thirty-six laps equal one mile. The water quality, similar to “mineral spa water,” is maintained using an innovative saline chlorination system. The pool is not available for swimming and exercising during many scheduled classes and activities. Consult the Pool Activity Schedule for details.

Support Groups

A support group for family members of people with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia, they meet the second Thursday of every month at 1:00 p.m. in FLC Fireside Room.  Contact Moira Keller at (404) 605-1950.

Buckhead Serenity Hour (Nar-anon Family Group)
A non-denominational, anonymous support group for families and friends of addicts and alcoholics. Meets Saturdays at the FLC from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.  Contact Milli Coleman at (404) 351-1313.

Mother Talk (through Piedmont Hospital)
For parents of children age 0-6 months. Children are welcome. Meets the first Thursday of each month from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the FLC.  Contact Chris Wagner at (404) 605-3734.

Parent Talk (through Piedmont Hospital)
