Our Mission

The Family Life Center and Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church exist to take Christ to our community and to the world. People who use the Family Life Center are provided with the opportunities to grow physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. It is our desire that all who use our facility or participate in our activities will have the opportunity to hear that Jesus Christ loves them and desires to have a personal relationship with them, to make a personal response to Christ and to grow in Christ-likeness.

Reception Desk

Everyone who enters the Family Life Center must register at the Reception Desk: members by scanning their membership card; non-members by signing the guest form and paying the appropriate fee. Non-members must present a valid photo I.D.

Wallet Lockers

Mini-lockers are available at no charge to members and guests. Use them to store your wallet, keys, cell phone, pager or other valuables. Obtain a token at the Reception Desk.

Childcare

A Reservation Nursery is available between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on the first floor of the Children's Building, Room 101, for children between the ages of six weeks and three years old. Parents MUST make a reservation ahead of time -- between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. -- by calling 404.591.4365. If you leave a message, a staff member will return your call to confirm the reservation. Please do not come to the Reservation Nursery without a confirmation call, as we can only accommodate 9 children per day. The cost for the first child is $8 per hour (for Early Childhood School and SPdL members) or $10 per hour for nonmembers, and $4 per hour for each additional child. Payment is required at pickup -- cash or check. Please provide a snack, drink, diaper, wipes and change of clothes.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Caregivers

A support group for family members of people with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia, they meet the second Thursday of every month at 1:00 p.m. in FLC Fireside Room. Contact Moira Keller at 404.605.1950

Buckhead Serenity Hour (Nar-anon Family Group)

A non-denominational, anonymous support group for families and friends of addicts and alcoholics. Meets Saturdays at the FLC from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Contact Milli Coleman at 404.351.1313.

For parents of children age 7 months – 2 years. Children are welcome. Meet at the FLC the first Tuesday of each month from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Contact Julie Duncan at 404.605.3734
