General Information

Our Mission

The Family Life Center and Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church exist to take Christ to our community and to the world. People who use the Family Life Center are provided with the opportunities to grow physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. It is our desire that all who use our facility or participate in our activities will have the opportunity to hear that Jesus Christ loves them and desires to have a personal relationship with them, to make a personal response to Christ and to grow in Christ-likeness.

Reception Desk

Everyone who enters the Family Life Center must register at the Reception Desk: members by scanning their membership card; non-members by signing the guest form and paying the appropriate fee. Non-members must present a valid photo I.D.

Wallet Lockers

Mini-lockers are available at no charge to members and guests. Use them to store your wallet, keys, cell phone, pager or other valuables. Obtain a token at the Reception Desk.

Childcare

We provide childcare for children ages four months - three years in the Children's Building, room 101 on the first floor. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The cost is $5/hour/child.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Caregivers

A support group for family members of people with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia, they meet the second Thursday of every month at 1:00 p.m. in FLC Fireside Room. Contact Moira Keller at 404.605.1950

Buckhead Serenity Hour (Nar-anon Family Group)

A non-denominational, anonymous support group for families and friends of addicts and alcoholics. Meets Saturdays at the FLC from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Contact Milli Coleman at 404.351.1313.

Divorce Recovery

A support group for those who are separated or divorced. Meets in the Fireside Room on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., September 10-October 29, 2008. To sign up, you must contact Charles Qualls at 404.591.4341 or cqualls@spdl.org.

Mother Talk (through Piedmont Hospital)

For parents of children age 0-6 months. Children are welcome. Meets the first Thursday of each month from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the FLC. Contact Julie Duncan at 404.605.3734
