Dr. James Neil (Dock) Hollingsworth, Jr. | Senior Pastor
Dr. Hollingsworth joined Second-Ponce as Senior Pastor on September 1, 2013 after an 18-year career with Mercer University. Prior to accepting the call as pastor, Dr. Hollingsworth was Assistant Dean and Assistant Professor of Leadership at Mercer’s McAfee School of Theology. He earned his undergraduate and doctoral degrees from Mercer University and received his Master of Divinity degree from The Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. Prior to his Mercer employment, Dr. Hollingsworth served churches in North Carolina and Georgia. He and his wife Melissa are the parents to adult twins, Haley and Brendan. Dr. David Hull | Associate Pastor
Dr. David Hull joined Second-Ponce as Associate Pastor on June 1, 2017. Before coming to Atlanta, he served as pastor of churches in Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama. His educational background includes an undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University where he was a Business Administration major and three degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to Jane who is a pastor in Watkinsville, GA. They have two married children, Emily and Andrew, and three grandchildren. E-mail David.
Timothy Boone | Minister to Young Adults
Timothy earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Applied Psychology and Cross-Cultural Sociology from Carson-Newman University and is currently working on a Masters of Divinity from McAfee School of Theology. Timothy most recently served as the Ministry Resident at First Baptist Church in Knoxville Tennessee. Timothy lives in Stone Mountain with his wife Miranda, who is a kindergarten teacher in Atlanta. Timothy joined Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church as the Pastoral Intern in 2016 where he began developing the College/Young Professionals class. Ryan Wilson | Minister to Missions and Students
Before coming to Second-Ponce Ryan most recently served as the Executive Director of Action Ministries Rome, in Rome, Georgia. Prior to that, Ryan served as Ministry Resident at Metro Baptist Church in New York City, as Minister to Youth and Young Adults at Parkway Baptist Church in Duluth, Georgia, and as a missionary in Cape Town, South Africa with an organization called Living Hope. Ryan was ordained to ministry in 2012 at Parkway Baptist Church. A graduate of McAfee School of Theology with a Master of Divinity, Ryan also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Furman University and is an experienced worship leader. E-mail Ryan.
Kellie Denton | Minister to Children and Families
Kellie Denton joins the Second-Ponce staff with over 12 years of experience in the ministry to children and families. Most recently, Kellie worked at First Baptist Church of Gainesville, Georgia as the Associate Pastor to Families with Children where she developed a vibrant children’s ministry. When asked about this new opportunity, Kellie responded, “I am excited and feel blessed to be called by Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church as its Minister to Children and Families. Over the past 12 years I have truly enjoyed being a Minister to Children, Families and Youth, sharing and partnering on the Christian journey together. As a new addition to the Second-Ponce family, I genuinely look forward to hearing your stories, serving with you, partnering with you and growing with you in faith and grace.” Kellie lives in Lilburn with her husband of 21 years, Paul, and their sons, Joshua who is 18 and Tucker who is 13.
