AARP Defensive Driving Course

Attend the 55 Alive Defensive Driving course and you could receive 10 percent off your auto insurance. This two-day course is for people 50 years and older. Space is limited. Register with instructor Mac Robison at 404.261.2223.

Health Check

Health Check is a convenient, low-cost screening program conducted by professional medical staff. Tests include: complete lipid profiles; 26-point chemical screens; and complete blood counts. Tests will also be available for: prostate cancer; ovarian cancer; hyper/hypothyroidism; HIV; self-test for colon cancer; and heart attack and stroke risk factor assessment. Flu vaccine will be given at the same time as other vaccines, including pneumonia vaccine. Fees vary; payment is due on the day of service. Questions? Call 770.888.8988.

Children: Holiday Camp

Christmas Day Camp ~ December 18, 19, 22 & 23
9 a.m.–12 p.m.
We’re offering a fun and exciting Christmas Camp for your children to enjoy during Christmas break. Boys and girls ages 2 (and potty trained) through 12 are invited to come join the fun (children will be divided into two groups, based on ages prior to September 1, 2008). Questions? Fee: $30/day for FLC members; $35/day for non-FLC members (Please note: Camps must be paid in full by the first day of camp.)

Children: Santa’s Workshop Gift Class

Children ages 6 and up are invited to join us for a fun filled afternoon of plaster, paint and pizza. Brenda Bass will teach this fun and exciting class that encourages kids to use their talent and creativity to design their very own Christmas gifts. Limit 15 participants.

Children’s Programs

Little Rookies (Ages 3, 4 & 5)

Little Rookies teaches beginning skills for multiple sports in a fun but instructional environment. This class will teach boys and girls proper sports skills for soccer and basketball and more. The first weeks will be soccer and the last weeks will be basketball.
Dates: Fridays, November 14–December 12 (4 weeks ~ no class on November 28)
Time: 12:45–1:30 p.m.
Fee: $65 members & non-members

Pre-Ballet (Ages 2.5, 3, 4 & 5)

Pre-Ballet is a structured program designed for the early development of ballet and movement. It precisely meets the needs and limitations of pre-schoolers by providing a carefully paced sequence of exercises to develop physical conditioning with poise and grace. Since children naturally respond to music and movement, the activities are presented through music. In the program, children learn self-discipline, listening skills, coordination skills, left and right discrimination, patterns in movement, and pre-ballet. Little Champs (Ages 3, 4 & 5)

Developed by experts in Kinesiology and sports instruction, this program is the perfect vehicle for parents who want to foster their child's physical development, team attitude, and self-confidence. It promotes balance, strength, coordination, left-and-right skills, and gross motor skills. Children’s Ceramics

Brenda Bass will teach this fun ceramics class for children ages 6+. Your child will enjoy delving into the world of plaster and paint, and will create memorable items of self-expression. [Note: Ceramics Parties are also available. Three weeks’ notice is required for ceramics parties. Green ware cost is additional to party fees. Adult Programs

Bridge Classes

Learn Bridge skills with Patty Tucker, a Diamond Life Master with 40 years of experience. Lessons will concentrate on suit combinations, play of the hand, duplicate scoring and mechanics. Class size is limited, so please pre-register at the Reception Desk.
Advanced Play Techniques (4 weeks)
Dates: Wednesdays, October 15–November 5
Time: 1-3 p.m.
Fee: $40 for all four weeks or $12 per class

Ceramics

Join Brenda Bass as she teaches you to use your talents to make beautiful gifts and personal items that truly reflect your creativity. Make great gifts for friends and family, or even a birthday! Register at the FLC Reception Desk.
