Early Childhood School

Thank you for your interest in the Early Childhood School at Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church. We would love to have your child become a part of our growing program. We believe each child is a special gift from God, with unique gifts and abilities. Our ECS offers a warm, caring environment, where children are nurtured through enjoyable experiences that are academically challenging and that enhance their love of learning.

Openings for the 2008/09 School Year

We have openings in our PreK (4 year olds) and PrePrimary class (5 year olds) class for the current school year (2008/09). If you are interested in these classes or would like to the be added to the wait list for the other classes, please contact Helen Dykes at hdykes@spdl.org.

Application Process for 2009/10 School Year:

The application process for 2009/10 school year will begin in Oct.2008.

Tours of the preschool will be given by the co-directors each Wed. at 10 a.m., beginning October 1, and ending December 3 (with the exception of Thanksgiving week). Reservations are not required for the tour and they are child-friendly.

Application/registration forms and tuition information can be picked up at the time of your tour.

Forms and application fee will need to be returned by mail with a postmark no earlier than December 10th. Please contact Helen Dykes at hdykes@spdl.org if you have any questions.

Our program begins with children who are age one by September 1st. Hours for the preschool are 9 a.m. until noon. School year starts in September and ends in May.

Admission is determined by several factors, with preference given to returning students, Second-Ponce de Leon Church members, siblings and children who have been on our wait list for more than a year. The Early Childhood School admits students of any race, color or national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policy, scholarship programs and athletic and other school-administered programs.
